Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana. Britney has a younger sister, Jamie Lynn who is the star of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101". They also have a brother, Bryan. Britney began her singing career at a very early age and appeared on the TV show Star Search at age 8. In the year 1993 and 1994, she appeared on Disney's The New Mickey Mouse Show. Britney appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions as a child actor, including Ruthless (1991).

Her next album, released in May 2000, 'Oops! I Did It Again' was another smash hit. The album contained the expected quota of well-produced, expertly crafted pop songs alongside a risible cover version of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction. Britney yet again received two Grammy nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Vocal Performance. In November 2001, Britney tried to shed some of her innocence with her next album, 'Btriney', and videos showing an older and sexier Britney. The Britney album gave her two more Grammy nominations for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for 'Overprotected') and Pest Pop Album (for 'Britney'). Once again a Grammy was not in her fate.

Britney's movie debut came in 2002, with Britney's role in Crossroads. Even though her movie career did not take off, Britney always had her music. In 2003, her next album 'In the Zone' was another chart topping success. Britney received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November of 2003. She was briefly married in January 2004 (approximately 2 1/2 days) to childhood friend Jason Alexander. In November 2004 Britney released the 'Greatest Hits: My Perogative' album, and just like everything else, it has done very well in sales. Britney got married to Kevin Federline in September 2004, which at first seemed only to be a media stunt, but was for real. Britney later said that it was her who proposed to Federline. In February 2005, Britney won her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording (for 'Toxic') from the album 'In The Zone'.

In April 2005 Britney announced that she was pregnant and having her first baby. The baby, Sean Preston, was born September 14, 2005. Federline already has two children with actress Shar Jackson, Kori and Kaleb. Britney has her own line of perfume called "Curious" that she began selling in September 2004 and has sold millions of dollars worth of merchandise since its launch. Britney followed this up with a new fragrance called "Fantasy" that hit the shelves in September 2005. 2005 was a busy year for Britney. Britney let the cameras follow her around in her own reality TV show titled "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic", which mostly showed home videos taken by herself and Federline. Britney confirmed in May, on the David Letterman Show, that she is expecting another child.
